Recently Technology Services purchased a SMART Board for the Presentation Room (Lib 020) in the Tech Center. We are seeking feedback from faculty in order to pursue and purchase more for electronic classrooms. This room can be schedule through the Help Desk at x8585, if you would like to try it out.
For more information, visit our SMART Board page in the Tools section.
In our continuing quest to document all electronic classrooms on this site, we would like everyone to know that links to the information pages for all electronic classrooms on this site are now linked to in Cascade.
These links are present in the listings under the Your Students section of Cascade, specifically in the listings for your own Class Lists and any Department Class Lists (click example image to see details.)
Clinking on any of the underlined room names will take you to that room’s page on this site. If you have any corrections, additions or suggestions for the pages for the rooms you teach in, please send us some Feedback.

If you find or notice any malfunctioning equipment at any time, even if you are not using it, please call the HelpDesk at x8585 or submit a HelpDesk service request to report it, mentioning that it is not an emergency call. Please be explicit about the room number and building the equipment is in.
About Electronic Classrooms
Choose the name of a building from the menu on the left to see detailed information on each room and equipment.
Electronic Classrooms offer a projection system with either a lecturn and computer or a laptop wall-plate connection at the front of an otherwise traditional classroom. Some electronic classrooms may offer additional features such as VCRs, DVDs, or Document Cameras.
Instructional Training/Walk-Through
If you are interested in learning how to use the equipment in an e-classroom and would like a walk-through, contact Walter Andrews.
Media Check Out Equipment
The Media Check-Out desk has audio and video equipment for check-out and delivery to classrooms on a one-time, as needed basis, for use in non-electronic classrooms. The number of projectors for this purpose are limited. See the Media page for more information.
New Classrooms
With the completion of the renovations of Thompson Hall, there will be over 100 electronic classrooms on campus for academic year 2008-09.
Additional classrooms are converted each year, depending on funding approvals. Typically, we convert 2 or 3 rooms per year. Contact the office of Associate Dean Alyce A. DeMarais for information about the planning process and priority list for new classroom conversions.
Purchase and Support
Instructional Technology pays for and supports projectors, sound systems, and other audio-video equipment only in officially designated electronic classrooms that are approved by the University and paid for by OIS.
We do not fund or support, fix, replace, or provide temporary replacements of any other projectors or audio visual equipment, such as those on carts or in non-electronic classrooms, paid for by departments, the Dean’s office, or other sources. Their support is the responsibility of the purchaser.
However, if you are purchasing such equipment, we can recommend brands and vendors to use. Contact Walter Andrews for more information.
