The Media Desk is for renting out technological equipment (such as digital camcorders, data projectors, microphones, etc) to students and faculty at UPS.

Q. What kinds of equipment can I check out from the Desk?

  • See the AV inventory for a complete list of available equipment.

Equipment for Video and Film Making Projects

Q. What kind of video cameras does the Media Desk have?

  • Canon: GL1, GL2, Elura 90. They all record onto Mini DV tapes which can be purchased in the campus bookstore or at any convenience store.

Q. How long can I check-out a video camera?

  • Just one day, but you can renew the camera if it is not on hold for another person by e-mailing, calling, or visiting the Media Desk in advance.

Q. Do I need a DVD-R or a DVD+R to burn my DVDs?

  • You need a DVD+R to burn your DVDs. You can purchase DVD+R’s at the campus bookstore, the Media Desk does not have any available.

Media Desk Equipment

  • Checkout for all media equipment is one day, but all items are available for renewal by phone, e-mail, or a visit to the desk.
