Walter is in charge of planning and support for projectors and media equipment in electronic classrooms.

Walter provides and supports reliable, current electronic classrooms for both student and faculty use. Walter works with faculty to ensure needs are addressed in planning for and operation of electronic classrooms and that faculty have access to training in the operation of electronic classrooms. He also assists with the daily functions the check out and check in of media equipment.

Walter provides support to non-classroom sponsored events, including faculty, administration, alumni, conferences, lectures and banquets. Support includes consultation, planning, and equipment setup for out-of-the-ordinary needs such as satellite events and instruction and training of equipment use.

If you would like training for yourself or for your one of your classes or student groups in any of the technologies I work with, including but not limited to, Blackboard, Moodle, wikis, blogs, any other web 2.0 social software, audio recording, podcasting and other audio or video tools. If I can’t help you myself, I’ll find the person who can.

If you are interested in attending one of the OIS Info Sessions or have suggestions for future ones, please let me know.

This is the support and information site of the The Instructional Technology group at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington in the US. The Instructional Technology group is part of Technology Services, formerly know as the Office of Information Systems.

Mission

Our primary mission is to support the appropriate use of technology for teaching in the classroom.

Staff

The Director of Instructional Technology position has been vacant since July 2006. Gordon Gilbert was interim director until September 2007; Theresa Duhart is the current acting director.

We are located in the basement of Collins Library in the Tech Center area.

Walk down the stairs from the first floor, turn left and follow the sign that says Tech Center. Our office is by the sign that says “Instructional Technology.”
